Parent and Teen Conflict

Conflict happens because your child is becoming an independent and responsible young person, they have their own perspective and preferences and will naturally push the boundaries parents set.

Periods

Most girls start their periods when they're about 12, but they can start as early as 8, so it's important to talk to girls from an early age to make sure they're prepared.

Speech and Language

Around the age of two years old, your child will have started to build up a core vocabulary of about one to two hundred words. They will have started to learn to join words together. Children at this stage of their development often do not pronounce words clearly, and this is perfectly normal.

Toilet Training

Teaching a toddler to use the potty can take time. It can often take between 3 and 6 months but every child is different.

Toddler Healthy Eating and Growth

During the early years of your child's life, their growth is monitored by a health professional using a WHO (World Health Organisation) growth centile chart. These can be found in your child's red book.

Toddler Health & Development

As children grow into early childhood, their world will begin to open up. Developmental milestones are things most children can do by a certain age. Children reach milestones at different times in how they play, learn, speak, and behave.

Resuscitation and Choking

Children, particularly those aged from 1 to 5, often put objects in their mouths. This is a normal part of how they explore the world.

Dental Health in Pregnancy

Maintaining good dental health is extremely important for wellbeing during pregnancy, and also the baby’s development.
