Being Active During Pregnancy

It is beneficial to you and your baby to stay active during pregnancy.

Stay safe whilst staying active

If you are not used to exercising on a regular basis try building on this gradually. 

  1. Gentle exercise ideas during pregnancy include; walking and mild jogging, swimming or aqua natal, yoga and pilates with trained instructors or cycling. 
  2. Avoid high-intensity physical activity such as sprinting and squash or contact sports.
  3. Doing at least 30 minutes of moderate activity every day during pregnancy is a good idea. 
  4. Wear a good support bra (without underwiring) when exercising. 
  5. Always drink plenty of fluids when exercising.
